Psychology/Neuroscience 4740.03: Topics in the Neurobiology of Learning and Memory.

This seminar class examines current research in the study of the neurobiology of learning and memory through presentations and discussions of journal articles. Classes will consist of review papers and research papers. Students will present the research papers and direct the class in the discussion. Grades will be given for presentations and participation in discussion and for an essay, which will be a critical enquiry into one of the topics covered in the class.
FORMAT: Seminar 2 hours
PREREQUISITES: PSYO/NESC 2470.03, PSYO/NESC 2140.03

Psychology/Neuroscience 4587: Topics in the History of Neuroscience.

Cross-listed as: History of Science and Technology 4301.03 in the King's College History of Science and Technology Programme.

This course examines the history of neuroscience: the search for the neurobiological basis for human thought and behaviour. This involves the examination of the theories, methods and experimental data, which have attempted to link the neural activity of the brain with the cognitive processes of the mind. Historical documents, library holdings, archives and web-based resources are used to examine original sources of historical materials. Students give presentations and write a term essay.

PREREQUISITES: Students should have an introductory course in Psychology/Neuroscience.
