A growing discipline within the engineering profession, environmental engineers develop solutions to environmental problems – from ensuring clean drinking water to environmental hazard remediation. You'll learn various approaches to environment-based design, waste management, water and soil quality, energy conservation and renewables, and air quality.

Minimum admission requirements
To be considered for admission to this program, you must meet minimum academic criteria:
- Completion of secondary school (Grade 12)
- Achievement of the minimum average for your program of choice.
- Completion of Grade 12 English (or equivalent course).
Admission to many Dalhousie programs is competitive. This means that meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee admission.

What you will learn
In the first two years of their degree, all engineering students complete the core engineering program. You can take this program either on the Sexton Campus in Halifax or the Agricultural Campus in Truro. You will study math, science, engineering science and design, developing a broad foundation in engineering.
