Current research
Every member of the Dalhousie Classics faculty has an active research program. Whenever possible, faculty members try to integrate their graduate teaching with their own scholarly work.
For graduate students, writing the MA or PhD thesis provides the opportunity to work on an author, text, question or topic about which they are particularly interested or passionate, under the guidance and mentorship of Dalhousie Classics faculty.
The Department of Classics also publishes two journals:
- Dionysius, an internationally recognized journal dedicated to philosophical questions about the ancient, late-ancient and medieval world
- Pseudo-Dionysius, a peer-reviewed journal that features the best graduate and undergraduate work produced in the Dalhousie Department of Classics every year.
