Dalhousie Substance Use & Addictions Lab was led by Dr Sean Barrett in investigating tobacco, alcohol, cannabis, polysubstance use, and other topics in the field of addictions research.
Dr Barrett's research aimed to understand how various pharmacological & non-pharmacological factors contribute to different addictive behaviours, as well as determine the extent to which individual differences play a role in such factors.
Multiple research projects examining how one's substance use behavior, mood, and craving are affected by contextual cues and expectancies are currently being conducted in the Substance Use and Addictions Lab. Lab members closely collaborate with a variety of other researchers, institutions, and , in order to diversify and expand our understanding of addiction.
