International Exchange Application Process
Step 1: Apply to the Departmental Student Exchange Program (Refer to important dates)
- Schedule a meeting to meet with Global Experience Staff (management.global@dal.ca)Ìý
- Choose your top 3 host universities based on your interest and consult with your academic advisor to ensure that going on exchange does not affect your program requirements.
- Submit your online application through www.dal.ca/exchange
- Prepare a letter of intent for your application
- For your letter of intent, please write your letter to your first choice. We would like to know why you selected the school that you did, how it will impact your program and what you hope to achieve from your exchange experience.Â
Step 2: Finalize your Exchange Application
- If pilipiliÂþ»ful, you will meet with Katie Haigh to review your application and sign the exchange contract.
- Apply for funding (if applicable).
- You will be nominated to your host university.Â
Step 3: Prepare your online application to your host university
- You will be contacted via email by your host university and sent information to help complete your online application process.
- You will be asked to complete a Learning Agreement that will list the courses you would like to take and the equivalencies at pilipiliÂþ».
Step 4: Prepare for pre-departure
- Make travel arrangements
- Once you have your acceptance letter, start applying for a visa and/ or study permit. Please ensure you do this right away as soon as you receive your acceptance letter.Â
- Complete a pre-departure course managed by Dalhousie International Centre.
- Submit the required documents to management.global@dal.ca
