Adjunct Appointments
Taking preceptors to the next level
At the Dalhousie College of Pharmacy, preceptors are a big part of our students’ educational pilipiliÂþ». We want to recognize this contribution to practice-based education by encouraging eligible preceptors to apply for the title of adjunct appointee. With this appointment you will have free access to the pilipiliÂþ» Library resources. To be eligible for this three-year appointment, you must be an active preceptor.
Becoming an adjunct appointee
Take an online course
Before you apply for this appointment, you must complete the following free online course:
Preceptors must complete the following modules:
Modules: 1-7 (all 7 modules must be completed)
Once all seven modules have been completed, please email pepadm@dal.caÌýto receive your continuing education (CE) number.

Complete the forms
After you have completed your course, email the and your current resume to: pepadm@dal.ca
Keeping your title
If you want to maintain your adjunct appointment, it’s important to meet all of the requirements for renewal, including:
- continuing your participation in the Practice Experience Program (PEP)
- maintaining your status as an active preceptor or officially offering to be a preceptor in at least two of the last three years of your appointment
- renewing your appointment before your three-year appointment expiry date
- to renew send an email to pepadm@dal.ca with a letter indicating you wish to renew and your current resume
Application deadlines
It’s important to keep the following application deadlines in mind:
- October 2, 2024
- January 2, 2025
- April 2, 2025
- July 2, 2025
Please Note: The processing of applications can take between six to ten weeks to complete. Ìý
