The Faculty of Health is pleased to welcome Dr. Cheryl Kozey as Dean (Acting), effective June 1, 2018. In addition to her role as Dean of the Faculty of Health (Acting), Dr. Kozey is also a professor in the School of Physiotherapy, with cross appointments in Biomedical Engineering and Health and Human Performance.Ìý She was the Associate Dean Research in the Faculty for the past 4.5 years.
Dr. Kozey is a co-lead of the Innovation in Musculoskeletal Health and Physical Activity collaborative multidisciplinary team and the Co-Director of the Dynamics of Human Motion Research laboratory.Ìý As a national and international leader in clinical biomechanics and neuromuscular control, her research is focused on keeping people with bone and joint conditions mobile and physically active, so they can maintain health throughout their lifespan. Her research has been funded through a variety of sources including CIHR, NSHRF and NSERC.
Dr. Kozey has been dedicated to graduate student education/mentoring and was the recipient of the Faculty of Graduate Studies Distinguished Service award in 2015.Ìý This award acknowledged her work related to graduate program curriculum development for three new programs as well as her pilipiliÂþ» in recruiting and retaining high quality students who have been highly pilipiliÂþ»ful with external scholarships and local, national and international research awards.
Dr. Shaun Boe has been appointed Acting Associate Dean Research, from June 4, 2018 to June 30, 2019.ÌýÌýSince joining the Faculty of Health, Dr. Boe has led a productive, externally funded research program with a strong track record of graduate training and has been engaged in research administration and leadership at the Faculty and University levels as well as external to Dalhousie.Ìý He will continue in his role asÌýthe PhD in Health Program Coordinator.
Dr. Erna Snelgrove-Clarke has been re-appointed Acting Associate Dean Academic from September 1, 2018 to August 31, 2019.ÌýDr. Snelgrove-Clarke has agreed to renew this appointment for the upcoming academic year providing continuity on several key projects related to this portfolio.ÌýÌý
