Ellen Petrie (MScOT ā24) applied to the Master of Science in Occupational Therapy because it aligned with her value of serving others. āI knew through volunteering and from student jobs that I wanted a career where I got the chance to work with people every day to achieve their goals. And that is exactly what this degree has given me.ā

During her studies, MacEachren became passionate about understanding how the various daily tasks and activities people engage in impact their health and their wellbeing. She also believes the Occupational Science program broadened her awareness of diverse perspectives and the importance of equity.

Amira Tawashy (MScOTā12) is nothing if not a multi-tasker. She is a Dal Faculty of Health instructor, an occupational therapist with the neurosurgery and assistive technology portfolios of Nova Scotia Health, a consultant to the World Health Organization and a member of both the International Society of Wheelchair Professionals and the Wheelchair Research Team.
