Dal Health researchers recognized at NSHRF Awards

The NSHRF held its Annual Awards Celebration Gala at the Westin Hotel on Tuesday, February 6, 2018. Congratulations to all the award, grant and scholarship winners.

Of particular significance to the Faculty of Health:

  • Drs Janet Curran (Nursing) and Sara Kirk (Health and Human Performance/HPI) were inducted into the , bringing the total to fifteen inductees from the Faculty of Health.
  • Neda Alizadeh Takhtehchoobi, a PhD in Health student was awarded The recognizing a research application to the Scotia Scholars Award (master or doctoral level) which demonstrates the greatest potential to benefit people living with Parkinsonā€™s Disease. George was a Faculty member in Physiotherapy and a former Associate Dean Research who conducted person-orientated research aimed at improving the mobility and lives of those with Parkinsonā€™s Disease. Neda is supervised by Dr. Tanya Packer.

It was a wonderful evening that celebrated the pilipiliĀž»­es of those who contribute to the NSHRF and conduct/support research that aims to improve the health and well-being of Nova Scotians.
