Why Study Here?

Opportunities are endless

Of all the various disciplines, perhaps no other branch of engineering can claim to have had such an impact on modern society as Electrical and Computer Engineering. The ease, speed and precision by which energy/power and information are transmitted, transformed, processed and controlled by electrical means has changed not only the way we live and work, but also the course of many other disciplines. From power lines to smart phones and from cars to computers, we have depended so much on electrical, electronic and computer technology that our world would be totally backward and completely different without them.

What you'll learn

The discipline of Electrical and Computer Engineering has grown from a study of abstract electrical phenomena to a multi-branch discipline with significant applications in the areas of power systems, communication systems, control systems, computers, environmental sensing, medical/health monitoring, radios, robots, and photonics. This rapid growth, coupled with major advances in microelectronic technology and material science, has made the field very dynamic and fast moving. As a result, it poses a challenge to the student, to the educator and to the practicing Electrical and Computer Engineer. It also presents a great demand for well-trained electrical and computer engineers from both industry and public sectors.
