Assistant deans have administrative duties in addition to their teaching responsibilities. They are available to help you within the scope of their administrative duties.
My role is to promote excellence in educational innovations, scholarship and research, and service. I do this by providing leadership in promoting faculty development and supporting research and outreach that make the most of the expertise and interests of faculty members.

I am responsible for overseeing the academic policy and curricula for all programs offered in the Faculty of Dentistry. It’s my job to ensure that our courses are complete, current, and meet all accreditation standards and that academic regulations (both the Faculty's and the university's) are being followed. I also assure licensing authorities and the public that all students have met the requirements to qualify for licensure.

My main responsibility is to oversee clinic operations and its undergraduate and graduate programs. That means I am responsible for effective teaching, learning, patient treatment, infection control, and research in the clinics. I am also responsible for support services, including staff hiring, training and career development programs, and safe working conditions.
The patient care co-ordinator, Dr. Terry Ackles, and I can help anyone with clinic-related questions or problems, including:
• undergraduate and graduate students
• clinical and building services staff
• faculty
• clinical study clubs
• clinical research projects

• patient management
• patient care problems or concerns
• conflict resolution regarding patient care
• concerns regarding student clinical performance

Dr. Mary McNally has been appointed acting assistant dean of research for the Faculty of Dentistry, effective July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2018. Dr. Mark Filiaggi will fill in for Dr. McNally until her return from sabbatical leave in January 2017.
My role is to support and enhance research capacity and activity in the Faculty of Dentistry.

My main responsibility is to help and advise undergraduate, graduate and Qualifying Program students about their academic, social, financial, and emotional questions and concerns.

My role is to provide leadership for the School of Dental Hygiene and to help implement the academic plan. I do this by promoting innovation in teaching and community service, reviewing and revising the curriculum, and working co-operatively with all faculty, students, and staff in the Faculty of Dentistry.
