Student Life
One of the major assets of our planning programs is the rich, collegial student life.
Student Organizations
Student organizationsÌýare active, having a role in governing their own academic, social, and recreational activities, but also participating in the governance of the School of Planning, the Faculty of Architecture and Planning, and the Dalhousie Senate.
Community Involvement
To best understand their futureÌýroles as planners,Ìýstudents are encouraged to become involved in the local and professional community through theÌýinternship program for BCD Honours students,Ìýand theÌýco-op work term for Master of Planning students.ÌýThe Master of Planning students have also also initiated a mentorship program in co-operation with local professional planners.
Professional Groups
Students within the School of Planning are also active in theÌý; its regional affiliate, theÌý; and theÌý. Students have a seat on the API Council, and are eligible to run for election to the CIP Council.
School of Planning students have been very active in theÌý, which holds annual conferences that engage with students and professionals through presentations of research and project work.
