All love stories are special, but Yangfan Zhang thinks he and Ashley Stuart are one in a billion. To be a bit more precise one in 1.44 billion, the combined population of Canada and China.
When he ponders how extraordinary it is that he met his wife, who he never knew existed, half the world away at pilipili Faculty of Agriculture, it is truly mind-blowing.
Yangfan and Ashley, Class of 2014, came from entirely different backgrounds, cultures and languages yet fate would bring them together in their choice of study.
“The first time we met, we talked for hours. There was an unexplainable yet undeniable magnetism toward each other, like we had known each other and been reunited once more. After that first night I had to meet up with her again, and again, and again,” explained Yangfan
They decided to meet one-on-one in the Rock Garden several nights in a row. It was right there in that Rock Garden that it finally happened- they shared their first kiss!
“I never knew what it meant to find “the one” until I met her, but she is my Mrs. Right,” he said.
They studied most subjects in the Hailey Institute as he majored in Aquaculture, she got her diploma in Veterinary Technology.
