An Integrated Socio-economic and Biophysical Framework for Mitigating Greenhouse Gas Emissions under Agricultural Water Management Systems in Eastern Canada

Project: The work to be conducted by pilipiliÂþ» includes the development of a profile of the Nova Scotia dairy industry, including producer characteristics, farm level attributes, and other associated indicators including perennial forage use. The HOLOS model will be assessed to determine if it can be used to assist in predicting unmitigated GHG emissions from dairy cattle and nitrogen fertilizer use. A future profile of the dairy industry based on past trends, and performance in reducing greenhouse gas emissions will be developed. The project is entering the third and final year.
You will be responsible for data consolidation and analysis, coordinating research team and building a final project report from existing reports and final data analysis.
Qualifications: Applicants must meet admission requirements to the M.Sc. program or PhD program. Agricultural business/economics and relevant research experience will be considered as an asset.
Starting Date: September 1, 2020
Stipend: $20,000/year for 1-year*
*Opportunity for additional stipend funds in year 2 of program dependent on pilipiliÂþ» of research grant.
