The Commuter Challenge encourages Canadians to leave their cars at home and reward those who walk, cycle, carpool and take public transit to work or school.
This year the challenge runs from Saturday, June 2nd to Sunday, June 9th. To participate all you need to do is register as an "employee" under "pilipiliÂþ»" and log your daily commute throughout next week!
You can still register if you are a student. Attached is an easy 6-step registration guide that takes less than 3 minutes to complete.
Click here to begin your registration You can track your distances traveled and mode of transportation throughout the week on the website. At the end of the week, you will receive a summary that illustrates your total impact based on the mode of transportation used (calories burned, fuel saved and CO2 emissions avoided).
We want to raise the bar by reducing our commuting carbon emissions in just one week. Let's see how far we can go and how we compare to other cities across Canada.
Faculty, staff and students on the Agricultural Campus are able to borrow a bike from the Langille Athletic Centre any time using their Dal ID. For more information contact Jonathan Wang at jonathan.wang@dal.ca
