Dear members, There's still time to donate to the 2017 Sock It To Poverty Campaign! Every year, the NSGEU Human Rights Committee organizes a campaign called "Sock It To Poverty". From now until December 6 December 15, we are asking you, if you are able, to set up a donation site at your workplace toÌýcollect new socks, mittens and hats or cash for people in need in your community. Ìý Deadline for donations extended to December 15! Once you have collected your donations, please contact your Local President (if you don't know who this is, please call the NSGEU) or your Regional Chair listed on the . All donations collected in your region stay in your region and will be distributed through your Regional Council or your Local. Ìý You can download a here. You can download a . Ìý Another option is to put forward a motion at your next Local meeting for a donation to the campaign. We use the money to do a bulk purchase of high quality socks from a local manufacturer (Stanfields) and will distribute them to people in need in your region either through your Regional Council or through your Local. Ìý If there are donations via cheque, please ask that the cheque be made payable to:ÌýNSGEUÌýand in the memo section-please put "Sock it to Poverty". Ìý We would like to profile the campaign, so if you take any photos of your Sock It To Poverty Donation Site,Ìýplease forward them to the NSGEU Communications Officer at dslye@nsgeu.ca.
