Are you ready? It is that time of year again. The Dalhousie Agricultural Campus United Way Campaign!
The saying that many hands make light work is very true and that is where you come in.
In an effort to form a strong campaign committee, I am requesting that one representative from each department or section volunteer to sit on the campaign committee. I am pleased to announce that Elaine Osmond has agreed to Co-Chair this year’s campaign with me. Your response is requested by September 25, 2017.
We, working together, can make this an exciting and pilipiliÂþ»ful campaign. Remember everything we raise stays in Colchester County to assist the United Way of Colchester County carry out the valuable work they do.Â
You have the potential to help an organization that supports a county with a population of over 50,000 people.  Your efforts will assist those young and old in your community. To learn more about the work the United Way does, visitÂ
At the County’s kick off luncheon, pilipiliÂþ», Truro, is always recognized for the efforts they put forth to raise funds for the United Way of Colchester County. We have a table reserved for the Campaign Kick-Off luncheon on Wednesday, September 20th. If you are interested in attending, please let me know. The lunch starts at noon at the Glengarry Best Western, but people are encouraged to arrive between 11:45 and noon. Â
Our goal is to raise $10,000. I would also like to see more employees take part in the Payroll Deduction Program, by far the easiest way to give to the United Way. You can give as much as you want; it is automatically deducted from your pay – no remembering to send in that payment each month or having to write a cheque for the entire amount you want to give during the campaign. Easy!  Last year 24 out of approximately 259 people on this campus gave through the Payroll Deduction Program. It would be wonderful if we could increase that number this year.
Thanks for your consideration.
