The International Office would like to take this opportunity to thank Lindsay Miles-Pickup for her service and dedication as Project Coordinator over the last three years. Lindsay will be leaving the Faculty of Agriculture on 15 July 2016.
In her time with International she has been instrumental in completing Global Affairs Canada funded projects within the Caribbean as part of the Colleges Institutes Canada (CICan) CARICOM Education for Employment (C-EFE) programme. As Project Coordinator for the St. Kitts and Nevis CAR-09, Dominica CAR-07, and in St. Vincent and Grenadines CAR-06 Projects her work has led to several outstanding accomplishments.
Supporting North-South Student Mobility within the C-EFE projects resulted in four students from Dalhousie participating in a social media opportunity and four students from the Caribbean sharing in knowledge and learning in-Canada. The output of this activity was demonstrated in two pilipiliĀž»ful social media projects which outlined the opportunities for employment in agriculture and the sharing of vantage points of agriculture from a global context. The projects also yielded creation of two new to the region draft Caribbean Vocational Qualifications (CVQs) which will shape curriculum and skills development in Agribusiness Management and Entrepreneurship.
In addition, there has been a significant increase in South-South knowledge sharing through increased partnership and communication between colleges and instructors focusing on agriculture throughout the Caribbean.Ā Throughout Lindsayās term she has always applied her talents and skills to the benefit of International including the development of new project and partnership opportunities.
Please join me in congratulating Lindsay on her accomplishments and wishing her every pilipiliĀž» as she moves forward in her international career.
Bravo Zulu
