Dalhousie Agricultural Campus was buzzing on Friday afternoon where 70 4-H youth gathered to participate in the Farmers Olympics as part of the East Gen Atlantic Showcase. Members of the beef and dairy projects from 4-H clubs across the Atlantic Provinces spent two-and-a-half days in Truro participating in the educational session with hands-on learning components.
By sequencing and analysing our foodās DNA, we are unraveling the story of our intimate relationship with the organisms that sustain us. The insights we gain not only give us a better understanding of our past, but they also inform us on how to better manage our food supply in the future.

For $15, members of the community can rent a plot to plant their own personal garden. With garden tools, compost, mulch and some seeds and transplants available, gardeners are only responsible for providing their own organic seeds and enthusiasm.
