A group of 18 new OEC students from FAFU arrived July 5³Ù³óÌý in Nova Scotia. They were met at 2:00 am by Mark Mason, Heather Doyle, Nancy Pitts, Wenfang Zhu and Qingya Zou.
The Dal-AC group welcomed them and took them to residence on the Dalhousie Halifax campus. A second phase of welcome and cultural acclimatization was supported by Gefu Wang-Pruski, Fangang Xia, Liu Qi, and others. Thanks to the student services colleagues from the Halifax International Centre who welcomed the students during their first week on campus.
These new students are presently improving their English scores by taking an intensive summer course in English for Academic Purposes through Continuing Education on the Halifax campus.
Once they have achieved the required language score they will be admitted to our B.Sc. (Agr) program and move to the Truro campus in late August. They will be joined by another 12 students who we expect to come directly to the Dal-AC campus at the end of August.
