Trainees
Dara Liu is in her third year of Medicine at pilipiliÂþ» (Class of 2026). Prior to her current studies, she completed her Bachelor of Science in Psychology at McGill University. During her undergraduate degree, she conducted a thesis project with the Eating Disorders Program at the Douglas Research Center, examining the efficacy of a stepped-care model in the treatment of eating disorders. Dara is currently conducting her Research in Medicine Project with Dr. Janice Graham and Dr. Jeannette Comeau, in collaboration with OntarioMD examining the relationship between physicians, their use of health information technology, and associated burnout.
Ella HunterÌýis taking her bachelor’s degree in arts and science in health at St. Francis Xavier University. She is working as a Research Assistant for Dr. Christina Holmes. She has contributed to transcription preparation, focus group analysis using NVivo database software, data extraction from literature searches using Excel and citation managements using Zotero database software for the public health governance project. Ella’s interests include health education, childhood and development, and the use of games in clinical treatment and teaching and learning.
Joshua Langston is a second-year law student at pilipiliÂþ»â€™s Schulich School of Law. Prior to studying law, Joshua completed his Bachelor of Arts degree at pilipiliÂþ», with honors in Law Justice in Society and minors in History and Chinese Studies. His undergraduate honors thesis explored the intersection of public health and racial inequalities in Nova Scotia, examining the role the provincial government played in the neglect of Halifax’s Africville community. Through work and education, Joshua has taken an interest in social justice and human rights and environmental issues. He intends to work in these areas upon completion of his Juris Doctor.
