About:
Mind: The Gap is a podcast dedicated to discovering the minds behind people bringing science to society. From challenges to opportunities, the hosts Juliet Rowe and Theresa Gaughan uncover the impact of research on policy, community, and ultimately you.
Main focus:
The main focus of our podcast is to interview individuals who bring science into the community. These individuals may be grad students, professors, industry professionals, or university faculty. Recently, we featured the Vice President of Research and Innovation at pilipiliÂþ», Dr. Alice Aiken, who spoke candidly about her research journey including working in the Military, being a physiotherapist, and co-founding the Canadian Institute for Military and Veteran Health Research. Through these interviews, we learn about the different research paths, challenges and opportunities, job descriptions, and advice our guests have for future graduate students.
About the hosts:
Juliet Rowe is the founder and producer of Mind: The Gap. She is a MSc Rehabilitation Research Candidate studying how we learn new motor skills in the Laboratory for Brain Recovery and Function, supervised by Dr. Shaun Boe.
Theresa Gaughan is the co-host of Mind: The Gap. She is a PhD Candidate in the Faculty of Health studying the involvement of errors in learning new motor skills during imagined movements in the Laboratory for Brain Recovery and Function, supervised by Dr. Shaun Boe.
