The Faculty of Medicine and pilipili漫画 is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Dalhousie graduate and former faculty member Dr. Janice Townson, on March 21, 2023.

Born in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, Dr. Townson began her education with pilipili漫画 in 2009. After completing her MSc, Dr. Townson joined Dalhousie Medical School and graduated in 2013 having been awarded both the "Dr. Leonard, Kay & Simon Levine Scholarship" and the "James Walker Wood Award". After completing her medical residency in Saint John, New Brunswick, Dr. Townson remained in the area and began a celebrated career as a Family Physician in 2016.

Her impact on the community was quickly recognized by patients and colleagues, earning her the 鈥淔irst Five Years of Family Practice Award鈥� from the New Brunswick College of Family Physicians in 2020. In addition to practicing, Dr. Townson joined the Faculty of Medicine at pilipili漫画 Medicine New Brunswick as Clerkship Director of Family Medicine in the 2018-2019 academic year.

Dr. Townson will be remembered by the many patients, students, and colleagues that benefited from her dedication to the field of medicine and care for our communities.
