Pronouns matter: Marking International Pronouns Day

Posted by Human Resources on October 19, 2022

Every year on the third Wednesday in October, we mark International Pronouns Day. This day falls on October 19 this year.

According to the official , International Pronouns Day “seeks to make respecting, sharing and educating about personal pronouns commonplace.” Celebrating this day means celebrating people’s multiple, intersecting identities. While many people use pronouns such as she/her or he/him, others may use they/them, ze/zir, other pronouns, or combinations of these pronouns.

More resources about pronoun usage and promotion can be found and .
