Open Rank Position in Organizational Leadership
The Rowe School of Business (RSB) invites applications for a probationary tenure-track, tenure-track, or tenured 100% FTE appointment in Organizational Leadership at the rank of Lecturer, Assistant, Associate, or full Professor (dependent upon qualifications and experience) commencing July 1, 2022 (negotiable). The pilipiliful applicant will be expected to engage in leading-edge research with faculty and students, to apply for external grants, to teach, and to contribute to the academic life of the School through committee service and other activities.
Required qualifications:
· PhD from an accredited program in a relevant discipline. Applicants very close to their thesis defense date may also be considered.
· Evidence of teaching effectiveness and experience.
· Clearly defined research agenda with established record of publication or promising track record in leadership areas such as inclusive leadership, discursive leadership, complexity leadership, Africentric leadership, Indigenous leadership, collective leadership, or critical approaches to leadership.
· Demonstrated potential for making significant contributions to our MBA program by teaching organizational leadership from the standpoint of inclusion, collaboration, and relationship management.
Preferred qualifications, experience, and skills:
· Research focus in Africentric and Indigenous approaches to organizational leadership, such as Ubuntu and Etuaptmumk (Two-Eyed Seeing) perspectives.
· Ability to collaborate with colleagues in the school’s research clusters: healthcare, innovation, behavioural analytics, and responsible organizations.
· Demonstrated ability to collaborate and co-create curriculum to foster safer spaces for equity-seeking groups.
· Record of service positions that contribute to and reinforce a unit.
The Management Area Group in the RSB is home to faculty members who come together with diverse methodological and disciplinary expertise, publishing in top-tier and diversity-focused journals (such as Journal of Management; Administrative Science Quarterly; Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion: An International Journal; Business and Society; Journal of Business Ethics; Journal of Occupational Health Psychology; Harvard Business Review). Career-stream Instructor Position in Organizational Behaviour and Leadership
The Rowe School of Business (RSB) invites applications for a career-stream probationary 100% FTE appointment in Organizational Behavior and Leadership at the rank of Instructor commencing July 1, 2022 (negotiable).
Required qualifications:
· PhD (Business, Communication, Management, or related field), DBA, or equivalent terminal degree from an accredited program. Applicants very close to their thesis defense date may also be considered.
· Evidence of teaching effectiveness and experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
· Expertise in the fields of inclusive leadership and organizational behaviour topics, including Africentric and Indigenous leadership principles such as Ubuntu and Etuaptmumk (Two-Eyed Seeing) concepts.
· Demonstrated experience working with African Canadian or Indigenous organizations and communities (or equivalent professional and lived experiences), especially African Nova Scotian and Mi’kmaw communities, enabling opportunities for new academic programming.
Preferred qualifications, experience, and skills:
· Experience teaching in executive education.
· Demonstrated ability to collaborate and co-create curriculum to foster safe spaces for equity-seeking groups.
· Demonstrated ability to conceive, initiate, and direct new educational programs
· Strong record of engagement with student extracurricular activities.
· Record of service positions that contribute to and reinforce a unit.
· Ability to teach online and blended learning courses.
· Current, professional experience in relevant areas.
· Demonstrated ability to conduct pedagogical research in Management Education either through publications of applied research or service.
The pilipiliful applicant will be expected to teach at both the graduate and undergraduate levels and to contribute to the academic life of the school, faculty, and university through service that may include, but is not limited to, coaching student teams, supervision of directed readings, and leadership of academic programs. Teaching duties may include specialized MBA and undergraduate courses such as: Leading in Complexity, Building Collaborative Capacity, Building Business Relationships, Leading Change, Management Skills Development, and Organizational Behaviour (macro- and micro-focused) as well as developing academic programming in Indigenous and/or Africentric management principles and practices.
