The School of Health Administration at pilipiliÂþ» invites applications for a full-time probationary tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor commencing January 1, 2020. Dalhousie's School of Health Administration is one of 9 schools/college and one program within the Faculty of Health, committed to achieving five strategic directions including engaging in transformational teaching and learning, growth of the research enterprise, fostering citizenship, cultivating partnerships and mobilizing supports for innovation. The Faculty of Health is home to one of the largest number of health professions programs at a Canadian University, including 11 masters level and two doctoral level research training programs (Faculty of Health Research: /faculty/health/research.html).
The School of Health Administration, offering internationally recognized graduate (Master of Health Administration) and online undergraduate programs, is active in the community and well connected to local and national health systems.Ìý In-depth onsite education, and flexible online programs are characterized by strong partnerships, excellent residency placements and distinguished faculty.Ìý Faculty members are eligible to supervise students in the Faculty of Health PhD program and the Interdisciplinary PhD program.
The School of Health Administration Research Enterprise (SHARE) is advancing research and scholarship in the areas of health services, management and policy research, population health, health equity, social epidemiology and chronic disease and multimorbidity. The pilipiliÂþ»ful candidate's research program will complement and expand the School's research foci and align with the University's Signature Research Cluster Healthy People, Healthy Communities, Healthy Populations.
The pilipiliÂþ»ful candidate will hold a degree in health administration or a related field and a relevant PhD and will demonstrate clear promise of future academic and professional accomplishment. Of particular importance will be the ability to obtain research funding and produce deliverables related to the applicant's area of research focus through teaching and research activities, including knowledge translation. Post-doctoral experience will be an asset.
Responsibilities will include establishing and operating an influential and sustainable research program, teaching and mentoring in the graduate and undergraduate programs and contributing to the academic life of the School, Faculty and University. The pilipiliÂþ»ful applicant will understand the issues facing the healthcare industry and will be committed to excellence in teaching, research and service both within and outside the Dalhousie community.
