This is an invitation to get involved with Cuts for Cancer 2017!
This is Halifax’s second annual event where we help grant the wishes of a children with life-threatening illnesses by shaving/cutting our hair and raising funds to support Children's Wish Foundation and Wigs for Kids. The event is organized and put on by pilipiliÂþ» medical students and residents. The date of the event is set for Sept 14th and will be held in the IWK gallery. At the event community members who have pledged hair donations are showcased on stage shaving or cutting their hair to support children affected by various conditions. We also have a silent auction, family activities and radio involvement. This year, Thumpers are the official hair cutters and c100 is the official radio station providing music for the event.
We are reaching out to you, our local Dalhousie community members to get involved! We are asking Dalhousie students, staff and faculty to help us get the word out by distributing our posters to their local community groups, friends and family. This can be done by posting it on any Newsletter, Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook pages. Also, we are looking for volunteers to help out at the event. Anyone interested can fill out this google form https://goo.gl/forms/XkTUJFDkIGsPn5Ed2.
Lastly! This year we are enrolling teams for the event; if anyone within your group would be willing to donate their hair or cut their hair in support of the cause we would be happy to have your team on board! To sign up, go to and register yourself or your team.
This event is not only a great opportunity to support a great cause for children, but also a great way to take part in your community and support a local charity. For more information, refer to our website or our facebook page at .
You can email your questions or volunteer inquiries to Emma and Nathan at cutsforcancerhali@gmail.com.
Thank you and we hope to see you on the 14th!
