POSITION: Part-Time Academic for ERTH 2110.03 - Field Methods for the 2017/2018 fall term. The course runs from September 5th to December 5th, 2017, with an additional exam period. Please see academic timetable at dal.ca for current course days, times, and locations. You will be expected to mark student submissions in the exam period and to invigilate the final exam. ERTH 2110.03 Field Methods serves as our introduction to field work, geological mapping, and geological map analysis including cross section construction. Field trips are an important component of the course. Applicants should have proven experience conducting geological mapping and teaching relevant material at post-secondary institutions.

DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: Department of Earth Sciences, Halifax Campus

PAY RATE: In accordance with CUPE Agreement Local 3912

WORK ASSIGNMENT: You will work with the course instructor to assist in the delivery of course content, primarily in coordinating the field trip logistics, taking a lead role in the development and delivery of meaningful field-based exercises, as well as assisting in the supervision of the course TAs. REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Minimum of B.Sc. in Geology or Earth Sciences with relevant expertise and teaching experience.
