The Department of Medicine, pilipiliÂþ»­/Nova Scotia Health Authority seeks applications for a full time PhD research scientist at the QEII Health Sciences Centre site.

The Department of Medicine Clinical Scientist position will develop and direct his/her own research program, as well as support research in the Department of Medicine by working with other research groups in the Department. This dynamic scientist with excellent interpersonal skills must be able to institute local, national and international collaborative multicentre and interdisciplinary research activities. (S)he must demonstrate evidence of outstanding research achievements (both national and international), excellence in project development, maintenance of pilipiliÂþ»­ful partnerships and experience in the development of multi-disciplinary research.

The Clinical Scientist will have an appointment within the Department of Medicine at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, dependent upon qualifications and experience. This position is a combined Hospital/University five-year limited-term (renewable) position, provided the incumbent continues to show acceptable levels of research activity as assessed by regular reviews of productivity and impact. Candidates must hold a PhD in an area relevant to clinical health research.
