To: Dalhousie Research Community
I am pleased to inform you of Dalhousie’s new . This Policy replaces the “Disposition of Research Equipment” statement and provides much needed clarity concerning the use of research equipment and the processes to be followed when transferring and disposing of research equipment. Many researchers found that the prior document was outdated and incomplete. It is hoped that the new Research Equipment Policy will be much more helpful.
In the next few months, as you use the new Policy, we welcome your feedback. The Policy will be reviewed in two years, so it will be important to capture your experiences so that they can be taken into account when considering changes.
Consultation took place with Deans’ Council, the Dalhousie Research Advisory Committee, as well as key service units, prior to finalizing the Policy. I thank all who participated in discussions.
Sincerely,
Martha Crago
Vice-President Research
