The University of King's College, Halifax, is seeking to hire the services of a part-time Chapel Administrator beginning September l, 2015.
The pilipiliÂþ»ful applicant will have strong people skills, excellent administrative skills, and a general commitment to the mission of the Chapel and particularly the students of King's College. The job description is attached.
The Administrator will report to the Chaplain at King's, the Reverend Dr. Gary Thorne, D.D. This is a regular part-time position with expected hours of work equivalent to two days per week ($17.50 per hour). Hours of work will include regular office hours in addition to after-hours and weekend work. There will be a heavier emphasis during the period September I to April 30; however, there will be a number of Saturday weddings in the summer when the Administrator will need to either be available or ensure that another responsible person is in attendance.

The Chapel Administrator will work closely with the University Chaplain and Priest-in-Charge of the King's College Chapel.
The Chapel Administrator under the direction of the Chaplain:
I. Communicates with the various Administrative Offices in the University particularly the Bursar's Office (i.e. overseeing financial management of the Chapel).
2. Promotes and coordinates weddings in the King's College Chapel.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Chapel Administration
The Administrator:
i. Promotes and coordinates wedding bookings and effectively confirms and
communicates date, time, numbers, etc. ii. Meets with wedding couples before the wedding to review wedding procedures, and will be available on the day of the wedding as required, to coordinate set-up and clean-up.
2. Financial Administration
The Administrator administers the financial management of Chapel, including, but not limited to:
i. Preparation of annual budget.
ii. The preparation for the Chaplain's signature of cheque requisitions and paperwork for the timely payment of invoices according to accounting procedures and timelines outlined by the Bursar's Office;
iii. The preparation of monthly income and expense financial statements for
the Chapel Budget;
iv. The reconciliation of the monthly financial statements with monthly
statements received from the Bursar's Office;
v. Oversight of the weekly delivery of Chapel offerings in an orderly manner to the Advancement Office; vi. Financial oversight of the collection and deposit of registration fees for Chapel outings, retreats and programs.
3. Communications and Support
In consultation with the Chaplain, the Chapel Administrator may be asked to represent the Chaplain in relation to:
i. University Offices: President Office, Bursar's Office, Registrar's Office, Advancement (i.e. informs Advancement of alumni weddings, baptisms, etc.) ii. King's Student Union, Music Director and Choir Manager, Kings Theatrical Society, Visiting Preachers and Missioners, Chapel Theologian
4. Other financial and administrative duties as assigned by the Chaplain
