The Dalhousie Libraries launches new Novanet

Posted by Dalhousie Libraries on January 23, 2015 in Community Highlights

In partnership with the other Novanet libraries, the Dalhousie Libraries has launched a new Novanet catalogue. The is available on the Libraries’ website.

The New Novanet allows searching for books, articles, conference proceedings, theses, and much more, through a single streamlined interface. The new interface makes it possible to seamlessly access subscribed online content, like magazines, journals and ebooks. In New Novanet you can log into your Novanet account to check your status and renew loans, as well as place holds and request material through Novanet Express and Document Delivery services. LiveHelp Chat is available to provide assistance with research questions.

While the New Novanet catalogue is limited to searching the print and electronic holdings of only the Novanet libraries, you can still search the catalogue that was included in our previous discovery service (WorldCat Local) at Worldcat.org for the holdings of libraries worldwide. Once a title is found in this service (or any other catalogue, bibliography, or other source) then you can, as previously, submit a Document Delivery request for the item and we will do our best to get a copy for your use.

Please visit any of the Dal Libraries if you need assistance using the new catalogue. Staff at our Service Desks, or subject specialist librarians, can offer instruction to individuals, small groups, or in classroom settings.

The search experience in our New Novanet will continue to evolve as staff at the Dal Libraries work with colleagues from across the province to enhance the catalogue.

We welcome your feedback about the New Novanet. to send us your comments.
