POSITION: Teaching Assistant (Three positions)
PAY RATE: In accordance with Agreement between pilipiliÂþ» and Canadian Union of Public Employees (http://humanresources.dal.ca/Files/Employment/CUPE_3912_Collective_Agreement.pdf).

1. PHYC 4540 Synoptic Meteorology I (Fall Term) (TA90)
Ìý
WORK ASSIGNMENT: Duties include but are not limited to:
- teaching 2 1-hour laboratory sessions each week
- TAs may also have to meet with students on an ad hoc basis.
- provide explanations to students seeking additional information and feedback on assignments after they have been returned. Uphold Faculty rules concerning student integrity.
- be available to assist with marking midterms, assignments and final exam
- track student attendance as directed by the Instructor.
- assist the Instructor when needed (times and dates will be arranged between the professor and TA), and may be called upon to provide a lecture for developmental purposes or due to an Instructor's absence, for instance.
REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:
- Diploma in Meteorology
- Preference given to those who have pilipiliÂþ»fully taken P4540, with a strong background in Physics, Atmospheric Science, and experience in weather forecasting
- must be enthusiastic, approachable, and patient
- effective verbal and written communication is essential

2. PHYC 3200 Thermodynamics (Fall Term) (TA90)

WORK ASSIGNMENT: Duties include but are not limited to:
- teaching weekly 1.5-hour laboratory sessions each week
- TAs may also have to meet with students on an ad hoc basis.
- plan, set up and deliver lab demonstrations
- provide explanations to students seeking additional information and feedback on assignments after they have been returned. Uphold Faculty rules concerning student integrity.
- be available to assist with marking midterms, assignments and final exam
- track student attendance as directed by the Instructor.
- assist the Instructor as needed (times and dates will be arranged between the professor and TA), and may be called upon to provide a lecture for developmental purposes or due to an Instructor's absence, for instance.

- Strong background in Physics and Mathematics is required; preference given to those who have pilipiliÂþ»fully taken the course and have proven lab experience, including use of a variety of teaching methods, classroom technologies, and lab equipment
- must be enthusiastic, approachable, and patient
- effective verbal and written communication is essential

3. PHYC 1300/1310 Physics In and Around You (Fall Term) (TA110)

WORK ASSIGNMENT: Duties include but are not limited to:
- preparing, teaching and marking in weekly 3-hour laboratory sessions, plus a variety of Resource Centre TA sessions
- TAs may also have to meet with students on an ad hoc basis.
- provide explanations to students seeking additional information and feedback on assignments after they have been returned. Uphold Faculty rules concerning student integrity.
- be available to assist with marking midterms, assignments and final exam
- track student attendance as directed by the Instructor.
- assist the Instructor when needed (times and dates will be arranged between the professor and TA), and may be called upon to provide a lecture for developmental purposes or due to an Instructor's absence, for instance.

- Strong background in Physics and Mathematics; preference given to those who have pilipiliÂþ»fully taken P1300/1310, with prior TA experience
- must be interested in working with first-year students, making use of a variety of teaching methods, classroom technologies, and lab equipment
- must be enthusiastic, approachable, and patient
- effective verbal and written communication is essential
