Today@Dal

For several years now, Notice Digest has kept employees informed about campus happenings. This year, we wanted to revamp the newsletter to better align with the needs of Dal’s faculty and staff communities. While the content will no doubt evolve over time, Today@Dal gives us a stronger framework to keep our community informed and engaged in campus news and events.

Features

  • A more linked with Dal News, with sorted archives you can browse in case you missed anything recently.
  • New categories, including Kudos (sharing community recognitions), Media Highlights (Dal people in the news), Blog Highlights (recent posts from Dal’s blog network) and Community Highlights (short stories, biographies and features that highlight and celebrate the Dal faculty and staff communities).
  • Full integration with the , with upcoming events highlighted in the daily newsletter.
  • A , rather than having to submit them by email.

Dalhousie Events Calendar

If you hadn’t looked at the old Events Calendar in a while, you’re probably not alone: while it had a small group of dedicated users, it hadn’t reflected the fullness of campus activities in some time. Our , launched today alongside Today@Dal, aims to fix this by making it easier—and more worthwhile—to submit and share events.

Features

  • Browse by date, or by event category
  • Submit events , rather than having to work with user accounts.
  • Quickly share events on Facebook, Twitter, or by email.
  • Integrated with Today@Dal’s daily newsletter.

We’ve imported events from the old calendar through the end of 2012. We’ve also added a handful of significant upcoming campus events, but there’s bound to be plenty we haven’t got to yet. Do you have a campus-wide event coming up that you want the Dal community to know about? .
