Lorena Heubach, Track and Field
Third-year field athlete Lorena Heubach is this weekās MUSCLE MLK Female Athlete of the Week.
Lorena won her first-ever gold medal at the 2020 U SPORTS Track and Field Championships over the weekend.
She posted a leap of 5.90 in the womenās long jump to win gold on day two of the three-day event, earning U SPORTS First Team All-Canadian
honours in the process
An engineering major, Lorena is from Granville Beach, N.S.
Matthew Coolen, Track and Field
Fifth-year sprinter Matthew Coolen is this weekās co-MUSCLE MLK Male Athlete of the Week.
Matthew earned gold at the 2020 U SPORTS Track and Field Championships in Alberta over the weekend.
He ran an 8.02 to win gold in the 60m hurdles on Friday, bettering his silver medal performance from last year. He set a new Dalhousie record in
the process, topping his previous time of 8.04 seconds.
He also earned a fifth-place finish in the 60m dash Thursday night.
A native of Halifax, N.S., Matthew is an engineering major.
Keevan Veinot, Basketball
Third-year guard Keevan Veinot is this weekās co-MUSCLE MLK Male Athlete of the Week.
Keevan led the Tigers to a program-best silver medal finish at the 2020 USPORTS Final 8 Menās Basketball Championship in Ottawa.
He scored a team-high 14 points in the Tigers 67-63 quarter-final win over the Ottawa Gee-Gees. He also had four rebounds, three assists and two
blocks in the effort.
In Saturdayās 84-55 semifinal win over the UBC Thunderbirds, he netted eight points, four rebounds and four assists.
Keevan had another great game in the championship final, earning 11 points, nine rebounds and six assists in the Tigers 74-65 loss to the Carleton Ravens.
He was named a championship all-star for his play over the weekend.
A native of Port Williams, N.S., Keevan is a commerce major.
