Last week, on February 28, students came out in droves to write thank-you notes to Dal donors as part of #dalTHANKS. Hundreds of cards were collected which and will be shared with alumni who have made a gift to the university in the last five years.
āThank you so much for hosting this event," said one student who popped by between classes. "I really appreciate what you folks are doing because the scholarships and bursaries Iāve received are the reason that Iām able to study at Dal."
And itās that sentiment that serves as the impetus for #dalTHANKS.
āThe entire Dalhousie community benefits from philanthropy, though itās our students who experience the greatest impact from things like scholarships, bursaries, state-of-the art learning spaces and experiential learning opportunities,ā says Julia Watt, executive director, Advancement Marketing and Donor Relations. āThis initiative is about providing them an opportunity to express thanks, if they chose, in their own words to Dal donors.ā
