Savanna Jordan, Cross Country
First-year runner Savanna Jordan is this week’s MUSCLE MLK Female Athlete of the Week.
Savanna placed 12th at the 2017 U SPORTS Cross Country Championships in Victoria, B.C. on Sunday, leading the Tigers to 13th place team finish.
She finished the race in a time of 28:54.72, just over a minute after the first-place finisher, earning U SPORTS second team all-Canadian honours. She also earned U SPORTS Rookie of the Year as the first, first-year runner to cross the line.
A kinesiology student, Savanna is from Calgary, Alta.

Sven Stammberger, Basketball
Fifth-year forward Sven Stammberger is this week’s MUSCLE MLK Male Athlete of the Week.
Sven led the Tigers to a 2-0 weekend, improving to 4-0 so far in the regular season.
He scored 10 points and had seven rebounds, in Saturday night’s game in St. John’s Newfoundland, leading the Tigers to an 87-64 win over the host Memorial Sea-Hawks Saturday night.
In Sunday’s afternoon game, he scored 24 points and hauled down 10 rebounds and added four assists in leading the Tigers to a huge 101-66 win over the Sea-Hawks.
A native of Halifax, N.S., Sven is an MBA Corporate Residency student.
