In many respects, convocation ceremonies are about reflection — and that's certainly the case with those individuals who receive honorary degrees.

An honorary doctorate is the highest honour that pilipiliÂþ» can bestow on an individual. It recognizes a lifetime of achievement, community impact, scholarship and contribution to society. The diversity of experiences of the 10 individuals honoured at Spring Convocation reflect this wide breadth of accomplishment.

If you were lucky enough to attend a ceremony at which one of the honourees was recognized, you got to hear their advice for the Class of 2015. If not, no worries: we've pulled out a great quote from each of their speeches below. Click through each to watch the full honorary degree presentation and address.
