The Dalhousie Tigers will be welcoming Shalyn Field to the women鈥檚 basketball line-up next season.
Field is a 5鈥�10鈥� guard who will graduate from Sackville High this year. She was a member of Team Nova Scotia鈥檚 U17 provincial team that captured a silver medal at nationals in 2012.
Shalyn began her high school career with Halifax West, and earned the team鈥檚 Rookie of the Year honour and the Metro High School Rookie of the Year award for her solid play in 2010-11. She was also named the Most Valuable Player for Sackville High last season.
Field is also a standout in the classroom, earning honour roll status in her first two years of high school. She is enrolled in Dalhousie鈥檚 Kinesiology program and is eager to get started with the Tigers squad. 鈥淚鈥檓 pretty excited that I鈥檓 going to become a Tiger, and I cannot wait to wear the black and gold,鈥� beams Field.

Shalyn is a serious student with high academic and athletic goals, an outstanding teammate and guard with strong passing and scoring skills who will make an impact immediately on our team and in the AUS.鈥�
