Men’s Hockey
SMU 3 @ DAL 0, DAL 2 @ StFX 5, ACA 3 @ DAL 1
Last Wednesday night, the black and gold hosted the first of three games to be played over the weekend. Dal’s strong defensive team effort was able to block Saint Mary’s attack for the first period, but two goals in the second period and another in the third ended the game with a 3-0 loss for the Tigers. Friday night Dal faced off against StFX, coming out strong in the first period with a two goal lead, from Andrew Wigginton and Brendon MacDonald. Despite the early lead, the Tigers lost 5-2 after StFX dominated the game in the second and third periods. On Saturday night Dal was back at home and looking for a win against Acadia. Down by one goal in the third period, the Tigers pushed hard to make a comeback, but they were not able to score and the game ended a 3-1 loss.
Men’s Volleyball
Sherbrooke 2 @ DAL 3, Montréal 2 @ DAL 3, Laval 3 @ DAL 0
Hosting the AUS-RSEQ Men’s Volleyball Interlock, Dal had an exciting weekend packed with games. On Friday night the Tigers took on Sherbrooke, going set for set until the game-winning fifth set when Dal came out on top, 15-9. Connor Maessen was named Player of the Game. The black and gold started Saturday off with a game against Montréal, and once again going set for set, it all came down to the final 15 points. With a fifth set score of 15-11, the Tigers earned their second win of the Interlock. The last game of the weekend was against the top team in the RSEQ league. Narrowly losing the first set 25-23, the Tigers were out of energy and fought hard, but were unable to secure the last win of the Interlock, losing 3-0.
Women’s Volleyball
DAL 3 @ CBU 0, DAL 3 @ StFX 0
In Cape Breton Friday night the Capers put up a good fight, but Dal came out on top with a 3-0 victory. Looking to continue their winning streak, the black and gold were fierce and ready to play StFX on Saturday afternoon. Winning 3-0, the Tigers dominated the court, led by an outstanding performance by Libero Tarah-Lynn Truant getting down and hitting up 18 digs. Let's keep the nine-game winning streak going!
Men’s Basketball
DAL 93 @ MUN 71, DAL 84 @ MUN 67
A pilipiliÂþ»ful weekend on the road for Dal earned them eight points and a fourth place tie with StFX in the AUS standings. Dalhousie led in points the entire game on Saturday and Sunday, controlling the court and climbing the ranks. Keith Robinson and Simon Marr led the Tigers in points on Saturday and Sunday with 17 and 24 respectively.
Women’s Basketball
DAL 75 @ MUN 84, DAL 83 @ MUN 68
Memorial hosted Dalhousie Saturday and Sunday in two four-point games. Starting off as a close game on Saturday, the black and gold were only one point down at the end of the first quarter. By the end of the second quarter, the Tigers had fallen behind by 24 points. With great effort, Dal tried to close the gap between themselves and the Sea-Hawks, but couldn’t catch them before time ran out, ending with an 84-75 loss. Shrugging off the previous day, the Tigers were ready to redeem themselves and secure a second-place spot in the AUS standings. At the beginning of the game, Dal and MUN seemed equally matched, but the Tigers showed their stripes and dominated in the following quarters. Keisha Brown scored 33 points and led her team to the 83-68 win.
Swimming
AUS Invitational @ DAL
In their last home meet of the season, Dalhousie hosted the Swimming AUS Invitational on Saturday and Sunday at Dalplex. Starting off the meet with a bang, Keishia Mills set a new DAL, AUS, and N.S. record in the 200m breaststroke with a time of 2:32.84. Winning 32 of a total of 38 events, the Tigers claimed both the men’s and women’s team titles, as well as first place in the combined team score.

Track and Field
Athletics Nova Scotia Open @ Canada Games Centre Halifax, N.S.
Winning 13 events, the Tigers had an excellent showing this past Saturday at the Athletics Nova Scotia Open. Rebecca Haworth and Simon Watts both earned first place finishes in high jump and long jump respectively, while rookie Jordan Bruce won the men's triple jump with a leap of 14.32m. Bruce broke the Nova Scotia Provincial Junior record, qualified for the CIS championships, and is currently ranked first in the CIS in triple jump.
