Tavia Raiche-Marsden, swimming

Tavia Raiche-Marsden was selected as Dalhousieā€™s female athlete of the week as she led the women's swim team to a solid performance against five AUS teams and the visiting McGill Martlets at this weekendā€™s invitational meet held at Dalplex. She won all four events she competed in, taking the 50, 100 and 200 freestyles as well as the 50-metre butterfly; she was also a part of both of the Tigers winning relay teams. Ms. Raiche-Marsden is in her first year of Dalhousieā€™s science program and is from Cole Harbour.

Max Burt, volleyball

Max Burt of the Tigers menā€™s volleyball team has been selected at pilipiliĀž»­ā€™s male athlete of the week for his performance at this past weekendā€™s AUS-QSSF interlock weekend held at UNB. Mr. Burt was a dominant presence all weekend, and has consistently been one of Dalhousieā€™s best players all season. He scored 52 points in the Tigers four matches against Quebec teams, where the team earned a 3-1 record, defeating McGill, Montreal and Sherbrooke in straight sets and narrowly losing to CIS #4-ranked Laval in five sets. Mr. Burt is a fourth year middle blocker for the Tigers from Gander, Newfoundland.
