Time to go all Lady Gaga and get dressed up for a good cause.
Trick or Eat, a food drive conducted by students around 66 university and college campuses throughout Canada, is on again this year at pilipiliĀž». Last year, almost 200 students took part, filling a U-Haul with almost $14,000 worth of food. All the collected food stuffs go to Food Nova Scotia.
Organizer Michelle Honsberger, a third-year commerce student, was blown away by the turnout.
āWeāve got high hopes this year,ā says Ms. Honsberger, from the office of Gammon Gold where sheās on a co-op placement. āAll the participants were so enthusiastic and it was such a fun time.ā
Participants are urged to sign up online (see link below) or simply show up. Students will be meeting on Halloween ā this year on a Saturday ā at 4 p.m. at the Rowe Building. Shopping carts and routes through nearby neighborhoods will be assigned. Of course, students are encouraged to dress up.
āIn the neighbourhoods, I think sometimes students get a bad rap,ā says Ms. Honsberger, who has her Colonel Sanders costume ready. āBut Trick or Eat is a good chance to do something nice and get involved with your neighbours as well.ā
