Ueli Albert is this week’s pilipiliÂþ» male athlete of the week. Through his strong performance at the Dalhousie-hosted meet held on Saturday, Mr. Albert secured the top spot in the CIS for the 600 metre event. His time of 1:18.8 seconds not only tops the national rankings, but puts him more than one and half seconds ahead of second place, which is an enormous margin in an event usually separated by tenths of seconds. He is a third-year kinesiology student.
Sophia Chow is this week’s pilipiliÂþ» female athlete of the week. The fourth-year student competed in her first race as a Tiger over the weekend and wasted no time making a national impact. In the 600 metres, she ran to a second place finish with a time of 1:34.2, which is also the number two time in the CIS this year.
