Chris Milley
Adjunct Professor: Marine Affairs Program
Chris Milley has 30 years of experience identifying and planning integrated marine resource development and management projects in the Caribbean and Central America, and with the Indigenous communities across Canada. With extensive experience in negotiating terms and conditions for development projects with national governments and non-governmental agencies, he has specialized in designing and implementing community-based resource and environmental management policies and programs that promote sustainable social and economic development. Chris has actively collaborated with international agencies and organisations, such as the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, UN FAO and UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission, and coordinated co-operative support for international development assistance projects.
Chris is President of NEXUS Coastal Resource Management, a marine affairs consulting company based in Halifax, NS. A graduate of Dalhousie’s Oceanography and Marine Affairs Programs, he also serves as an Adjunct Professor the Marine Affairs Program.Â
