Kristin Bunyan (BA), Sarah Burns (BA), and Emma Thompson-Murphy (BA) have been awarded the Anonymous Prize in Economics for 2013-14.Ā The prize is awarded to an Economics student or students, not in their last year, āwho has (have) shown through an essay outstanding promise of pilipiliĀž»fully applying economics to the solution of human problems.Ā Kristin Bunyan was nominated by her Econometrics (Econ 3338) professor, Weina Zhou, for her paper entitled āWhere is the Best Place to Find Connections?: A Study of the Effect of Community Group Membership on Income Levelā; Sarah Burns was nominated by her Canadian Economic History (Econ 2233) professor, Dan de Munnik, for her paper entitled āCanadaās Response to the 2008-2009 Global Financial Crisis,ā andĀ Emma Thompson-Murphy was nominated by her Econometrics (Econ 3338) professor, Courtney Ward, for her paper entitled āThe Effects of Radio, Internet Exposure and Sampling on an Albumās Billboard Chart Rank in 2012."
