It's an exciting time to be in education. As the landscape continues to develop and change at a much faster rate than other areas of higher education – especially as we watch the drastic changes already occurring due to the global pandemic – a growing number of opportunities have emerged.
To keep current with what is happening in the industry, the College of Continuing Education developed a white paper to identify upcoming research trends.
Author, Charlene Rockwell (M. Ed.), reflected her role as researcher on this project.
“When first asked to research trends in continuing education, I felt somewhat daunted by the vastness of the task. Continuing education is a complex field that experiences changes at a more rapid pace than traditional fields of education,” she explains.
“The trends and recommendations outlined in this paper were the result of pre-pandemic research and should be viewed with the caveat that the changes to the world we live in now could render some of this information less relevant. However, some will be more important than ever, and indeed may see an acceleration as a result of the current crisis.”
