2011 Trudeau Fellow John McGarry presents "An Academic and Conflict Resolution: Northern Ireland and Other Hard Cases" as part of the 2012-13 Trudeau Lecture Series.Â
McGarry, professor of political science and Canada Research Chair in Nationalism and Democracy at Queen's University, was brought up in strife-torn Northern Ireland. Motivated by his experiences, he pursued an academic career devoted to understanding ethnic conflict and finding ways to build peace.
