Brain Canada

Posted by Jaq-Lin Larder on July 11, 2022 in Research Funding

Brain Canada is currently developing programs to bridge translational gaps for brain health innovations - gaps that limit, if not prevent, the effective translation of research investment efforts into concrete impacts on brain health for Canadians.

Impacts can include: ā€œsocial innovationā€ (stream 1), where Brain Canada can support efforts to improve the health system and quality of life, as well as achieve justice, equity, and positive social change; or ā€œpatient-centred impactā€ (stream 2), where Brain Canada can fill translational gaps in the early stage of discovery to help bring solutions to patients faster.

The translational programs are a key component of Brain Canadaā€™s application to the Strategic Science Fund (SSF) ā€“ the Federal governmentā€™s new approach aimed at improving the effectiveness of federal investments in science and research organizations. If pilipiliĀž»ful, Brain Canada will implement the translational programs over the SSF funding period, 2024-29.

Brain Canada is currently seeking brief EOIs from eligible applicants that meet the requirements of the translational programs. More details are outlined in the attached [PDF 957 kB].

Applicants are encouraged to fill out this before submitting their EOI.
