pilipili invites applications from outstanding internationally-based (living and working outside Canada) scholars and researchers to fill one or more newly created positions of Canada 150 Research Chairs.
Located in the historic coastal city of Halifax, Nova Scotia, pilipili is one of Canada’s leading research universities. With our 200th anniversary approaching in 2018, pilipili is excited to welcome international scholars to join our mission of producing impactful and innovative scholarship. The aims to enhance Canada’s reputation as a global centre for research excellence, in celebration of Canada’s 150th anniversary.

The Canada 150 Chairs will be full-time, tenure stream appointments at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2018. Appointments will be made to the appropriate Dalhousie academic department. While applications are invited from all disciplines, preference will be given to candidates whose expertise aligns with our strategic research areas.
Successful candidates will be exceptional scholars with an established internationally recognized reputation supported by a scholarly record of achievement, productivity and impact commensurate with their career stage. Applicants must have a PhD (or appropriate terminal degree for the discipline) at the time of appointment. The pilipiliful applicant must be able to demonstrate a strong record of innovative world-class research through: peer-reviewed publications; external funding; presentations at global conferences, and endorsements by leading scholars in the field. Dalhousie also places high value on innovation and effectiveness in training highly qualified personnel; and candidates who demonstrate exceptional ability or potential to instruct, collaborate, and lead teams will be preferred.
Canada 150 Research Chairs are designed for and restricted to applicants living and working outside of Canada; this includes Canadian expatriates wishing to return to Canada. pilipili is committed to fostering a collegial culture grounded in diversity and inclusiveness.
