Sample Schedules

Expectations about when and how often students meet in-person tends to be different in a blended course compared to a fully in-person course. This is due to decreased requirements for in-person contact hours to balance the increased online presence expected of students and the instructor. However, there is a great deal of flexibility in how the class schedule can be implemented.

Here are some examples:

  • In-class sessions might occur during the first 2-3 weeks of the course, with the following 2-3 weeks consisting of online (synchronous or asynchronous) work.

  • Classes that usually meet twice a week for a cumulative three hours might meet twice for a cumulative 90 minutes.

  • A bi-weekly schedule with alternating structural emphases (lectures and concept review one week; collaborative work the next).
